Rabbi Isaac Leizerowski
Beth Midrash Harav B’nai Jacob, better known as “Rabbi Yolles’ shul” is located on the corner of Griffith Street and Algon Avenue. Rav Yolles founded his shul in the mid 60’s. Every Shabbos, many of the women of the shul come early to davening to set up a Kiddush for afterwards. They look forward to collectively preparing the snacks for the shul to share in the kiddush.
On Friday evenings throughout the summer, beginning with the first Shabbos after Shavuot, there will be have a minyon for mincha starting 10 minutes before the sundown immediately followed by Kaballas Shabbos. Everyone is welcome.
They have started a mini kollel Monday through Thursday nights from 8:00 until 9:30.
There is a Daf Yomi class every morning from 9 to 10 o’clock.
Between Mincha and Maariv on the weekdays there is a Mishnah Berurah shiur, and on Shabbos, Rabbi Moshe Ungar gives a shiur between Mincha and Maariv. The heimishe atmosphere draws many families from the area, making the shul comfortably full.
